Left and Found
Kezia Pritchard
9-11 november 2007
Left and Found startet som en prosjektidé hvor hun begynte å oppsøkte offentlige computere i Trondheim, og presset `paste`(lim inn). Ideen kommer av kunstnerens interesse for etterlatte spor av menneskers eksistens.
I utstillingen har resultatet av dette prosjektet blitt kombinert med en annen installasjon.
Kezia Pritchard er en kunstner fra England. Hun studerte billedkunst, skulptur ved Wimbledon School of Art i London. Siden hun ble uteksaminert har hun deltatt i utenlandske residenser, som har ledet henne til å jobbe i Trondheim.
Miss Bentley attempts to combine all the things that amuse her into something that resembles art. She really likes drawing and this exhibition is dedicated to that activity which she so cherishes. Her drawings celebrate whimsy, frivolity and inanity. She draws things she likes and things she likes to draw. If you want to get spiritual you could say that drawing is a kind of meditation. If you don’t, it can be seen as pure recreation.
Miss Bentleys work usually has a critical edge or exhibits traces of the artists existential musings. These elements are perhaps not as pronounced in the work shown here. It appears as if she is taking some time out from cynicism to indulge in a lighter form of joy. The drawings do, however, originate from the question that sits behind all her work, ‘what shall I do with all this time?’
